The Panda journey began with the enthusiasm and passion of our founder, Andrew Cherng, who came to the United States from the culinary rich Yangzhou region of China. In 1974, Andrew and his father opened the fine dining restaurant Panda Inn, in Pasadena, California.
His father, master chef Ming-Tsai, created irresistible flavors in a sizzling
wok using only the finest ingredients. Andrew ensures a loyal commitment to his father's recipes and to his precise culinary standards. Today, Panda has grown to over 1,100 restaurants.
