Downey's Restaurant overlooking Penn's Landing at
Front and South Streets opened in Philadelphia in 1976. Although a
traditional Irish pub in many respects, this establishment has been taken
to new culinary heights by the classically trained executive chef and owner
Domenico Centofanti. Domenico and his family have embraced Philadelphia and
have mixed the Old Irish charm of Downey's with some of Domenico's Italian
roots which makes Downey's a very unique dining experience. With everything
from corned beef and cabbage to brick oven pizzas, their exhaustive menu
and excellent preparation will always deliver an unforgettable meal.
