The location now home to Paragon and Viva was the site of the original Spats Restaurant & Pub. This historic Eastside restaurant and traditional pub was home to students, families and friends. Andy and Solan Mitrellis created a relaxed and friendly ambiance of good food, drink and a great night out. It was not uncommon to see the Providence Singers or the Cabot Street Theater actors unwinding after an evening of rehearsals. Before Providences renaissance the word was Ill meet you at Spats. It was a small town back then and for many the old Spats brings back good memories of a time since past.
